On February 20th, 2012, Ryan Reynolds of the Evansville Courier & Press, will be featured in the monthly Social Media Club of Evansville meeting. Ryan has 14 years working in the industry and has witnessed the impact of the Internet on newspapers and journalism in general.

Reynolds first job with the Evansville paper was as a sports agate clerk, which eventually led him to part time sports reporter, and then to a news reporting intern. After paying his dues, Ryan began working as a general assignment and police beat reporter. It was in 2002 when Ryan was promoted to management at the Courier and Press, responsible for coordinating coverage of Southern Ilinois. As the face of reporting changed, so did Ryan’s position with the Courier and Press. In 2008 Ryan was named online news editor, where he currently resides.

Please plan on attending the next SMC of Evansville meeting to hear about Ryan Reynold’s experience with the Courier and Press and how it’s changed over the past 14 years. Be sure to have some questions ready for Ryan, whether about print or online media from the local paper. The event starts at 6:00 pm and will wrap up at 8:00 pm on Monday February 20th, at the Ri Ra Irish Pub.
