How well do you understand young adults and how they use social media? Probably about as well as they understand us professionals! On Monday, September 17th, the Social Media Club of Evansville will be gathering with the SMC EDU chapter at University of the Evansville for a networking event that will connect these different perspectives. Share how social media plays a role in your profession, and discover the differences in how students are using social media among their peers.
Meeting Format
It goes like this. Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest walked into a bar…
Err, This inaugural SMCEVV / UESMC event will use a speed-networking format. We’ll ask everyone to take a moment to share why you are passionate about social media, how it impacts your professional life, and why you think it has value (we know you do, or you wouldn’t be a SMCEVV member). We’ll all learn a little more about each other, ask questions and explore ideas as a group, and then have an opportunity to follow up individually or in small groups to learn more.
This is sure to be an educational and informative evening, following on the success of other interactive events where we have asked all of our members to contribute.
Who Should Attend?
- Students interested in social media and how local area professionals use it.
- Professional looking to share their interest and passion of social media with others.
- Professionals seeking an intern or entry level applicant for social media or online related efforts.
- Anyone who is interested in social media and that includes, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Tumblr, Blogging, Pinterest, Quora, Stumble Upon, Reddit, Blogger, WordPress, etc.
Attendees will have a wide range of skills and knowledge, so please join us! Whether you are a novice or ninja, our goal is to be a resource for the community. If you get it, share it!
